ORTHO BENZYLE CHLORO PHENOL

CAS  NO.  :   120-32-1

USES   :   O.B.C.P.    is   used   as   an   active   ingredient     in    themanufacture of  disinfectants.    O.B.C.P.  is   a  powerful bactericide fungicide germicide and an excellent  base for germs killing formulation used for Hygeine and sterility.

APPEARANCE  :   O.B.C.P. is a dark brownish pink coloured liquid.

ODOUR  :  Characteristic Phenolic Odour.

SOLUBILITY  :   O.B.C.P is practically insoluble in water

Soluble in Alcohol, Acetone, I.P.A., Methanol,

Benzene and Ether.

Soluble in most anionic surfactants (5% OBCP in 25%

Castor Oil Soap gives a clear solution).

CHLOROXYLENOL

DESCRIPTION & USES   :   CHLOROXYLENOL (CHLORINATED XYLENOLS) is   a    liquid germicidal base and used as a powerful booster for black and white  Disinfectant fluids and specially formulated Antiseptics.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

 Appearance  :   Light Amber Liquid

Odour   :   Typical of a Chlorinated Phenol

Specific Gravity    :   1.14  to  1.20  at   20o C

DISTILLATION RANGE  :   90%  between 220o C   and  270o C  at  NTP.

GERMICIDAL VALUE    :   RWC of Chloroxylenol method adopted as per IS No.1061:1997 using the composition: 5ml    Chloroxylenol, 95ml  25% Castor Oil Saponified Solution,  Calculated  for  100%  is  minimum  180

MIXED  CHLORO  PHENOLS

USES   :   It is a  powerful Bactericidal, Fungicide,Germicide  and excellent  base for  insect  killing  formulations  such as Black & White disinfectant fluids.

APPEARANCE  :   Brownish pink colour liquid with strong Phenolic odour.

SOLUBILITY   :   (a)   Sparingly soluble in water.

(b) Soluble in Alcohol, Acetone, I.P.A., Methanol , Benzene and Ether.

(c)   5 gm MCP  in 25% Castor Oil Soap gives aclear solution.

SP.GR.AT 20o c  :  1.24     to    1.32

CHLORINE CONTENT   :  24 %    to    35 %

GERMICIDAL VALUE   :  R.W. Coefficient : –  30   to   60

RWC is done as per method given in IS specification

1061 : 1997  taking solution given in solubility ( c )
